Steelhead Guides Vancouver Island

You may have heard of  one of the best Steelhead guides Vancouver Island
Don't take our word for it...

January 2016 Steelhead Guides Vancouver Island Client Review:

When I inquired with iGuideBC about a steelhead fishing charter I really wanted to come in December but also wanted the best fishing days. Instead of promising me great fishing days at my convenience Alex was honest with the timing sensitivity of this region. Steelhead fishing Vancouver Island peaks in January so I ended up booking at peak times and had an epic few days fishing. He really knows the best time to fish Vancouver Island. Alex has an incredible sense in reading water, something I myself have been trying to master for years but haven’t quite got it yet. He also knows every nook and cranny of the Cowichan River. And the boat! This thing is amazing. I’ve never used a drift raft before but I will be buying one and using it on the rivers back home. It’s so easy to move around and get into all the good spots. There were a few other larger boats on the river that day but they honestly just couldn’t get into highly productive spots. I myself caught 4 really nice steelhead in one day and while milling about the opt out point on the river heard people bragging about getting only one and whining about a slow day! I was so happy I chose Alex with iGuideBC for my winter steelhead charter. What a great few days!

February 2017 Steelhead Guides Vancouver Island Client Review:

I’m retired and an avid fly fisherman. I finally wanted to get into winter steelhead fishing this year and did alot of research for timing, location and local guides. Let me tell you, I had a blast with iGuideBC. Alex took me into some really cool spots where an experienced fisherman could catch their fill of steelhead. Some of the fancy fishing resorts consider a one fish day a success so imagine how happy I was to catch three! The steelhead here aren’t huge like other places but it was more about the challenge of hooking the elusive Vancouver Island Winter Steelhead. Alex my guide was also super funny and we ended up extending our half day charter into a full day. Well worth the cost!

March 2018 Steelhead Guide Vancouver Island Client Reviews:

This guy knows how to fish!

Alex West from iGuideBC is not just an incredible guide but he’s also a great instructor. I went to Vancouver Island early spring and was told by everyone that it wasn’t a great time for fishing in that part of the world. Instead of listening to them I did a little research and happened upon Alex West. After chatting with him and finding him knowledgeable and very easy to talk too, I booked a trip for a full day Cowichan River drift. It seems salmon fishing in the ocean isn’t great when we were there but I didn’t want to go to Vancouver Island and not fish! I’m so glad we went ahead with it. It was awesome! So much fun! My dad and I had an absolute blast. We didn’t know very much about the style of fishing used for steelhead and brown trout that lived in this river but Alex gave us lots of instruction and we both we able to catch a few. My dad caught a really nice brown trout that he will brag to his buddy’s about for years. I didn't realize it at the time but Steelhead Fishing Vancouver Island is kinda a big deal, without even knowing it I stumbled upon one of the most sought after and challenging fish on the planet.
